The Lala Interview

    Hi Lady!

I took sometime out of my day today to read your blogs. AND, let me tell you, you have inspired me to the core. (Sounds corny) But very true!

Whao! You have blown me away with how optimistic you are and how strong your warm heart seems to just shine through your words. I CAN honestly say if i had to, I can most likely tell you a secret and you wouldn’t tell a soul. That’s amazing.

Unfortunately, in the past few years, I haven’t had the type of artistic eye like yourself, but I know its in me and its there. I paint (sometimes), I study, read, play with my dog, run, hike. Seriously, I’m just stumped on as to why I doubt my creative side so much. I think maybe its because I haven’t pushed myself ?… or been inspired enough?… dunno

I would like to be “fabulous” again…seriously

    1. I don’t wear stilettos anymore because my lover would be a little shorter then myself and no guy likes to feel like they are with a giant. It slightly crushed their ego? Blah…lol

    2. I am afraid to wear bright colored outfits because I don’t think I can always pull them off. I’ll wear turquoise, and paint my nails pink or orange. But nothing over the top.

    3. I use to collect things like unicorn figurines, and nail polishes. I don’t know why I stopped.

    4. Also, I had to move to San Diego (beautiful) for school and I haven’t had the desire to meet up with my family and friends for dinner and drinks in LA or even in SD. Its kind of pathetic.

Obviously, I need a little push. And the more and more I type, I feel slightly embarrassed. Help! lol You seem like the go-to-girl. Let me know what you think!

    You look GREAT btw!

      Crosbie,

Thank you SO MUCH for all of your kind words. You don’t know how encouraging and inspiring they are to me. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to write to me… It’s letters like this that make everything worthwhile! I am truly inspired by how open you were (that takes a bold/courageous streak!) and I hope my following reply is what you were looking for.

You already KNOW that you’re artistic and creative. The reason that you’re feeling a little bit stuck is that you’re not giving it an outlet. That’s probably the reason that you haven’t had the desire to meet up with family/friends recently. When you’re not giving your true self an outlet, a little bit of you is asleep… just waiting to be shaken awake. When you are truly awake, you have a crazy desire to meet up with family and friends and get to know new people. Your energy levels will surprise you and you’ll feel inspired by the tiniest things and human interaction. It’s a common condition to get stuck in a rut… it can happen to all of us. What sets you apart is that you realize you’re a bit stuck at the moment and you want to change it!

I noticed that you said you paint… sometimes. Why only sometimes? I know you’re probably super busy with school, but you need to make time for you. You are creative. You have a creative and fabulous woman inside of you who is just a little bit stuck right now and she is waiting for you to get her moving. Go back to collecting whatever you want (unicorns… nail polishes {i collect nail polish, too!}… anything!) and fill your space with things that are distinctly you. When you lose track of who you truly are (it’s the little things that make us each unique!) you lose the strength to try new things. When you focus on you, you’ll be confident in your creative side and give it an outlet in which to play. Also, remember: when you are being creative/artistic… there is no such thing as a mistake. Each creative decision you make is distinctly your own… so it’s exactly the way it should be.

You are a BEAUTIFUL girl and you should feel entirely and completely confident wearing stilettos (your man shouldn’t be focusing on your height… but on how sexy you feel in your hot shoes! he’ll be proud to be with such a confident/stunning/secure woman) and bright colors (i KNOW you can pull off more than turquoise)! Take baby steps with yourself… up your heel height an inch at a time… try a new color in a pastel and then amp it up to a brighter version. Go buy some new nail polish and slap something shimmery/glittery/outrageously loud on your fingertips. You’ll be surprised at how little changes that may seem insignificant and frivolous can actually make you a whole lot happier instantly. They make you happier because it’s the little things that make you fabulous. different. unique. beautiful. And, Crosbie, you are all of these things. Thanks again for writing to me <3

      xoxo,
      Kiki E

      PS And… if you do have a secret… You're right. I wouldn't tell a soul.

  • Crosbie

    Awwww Kristen!!! <3 You're awesome.

I have to get myself into gear woman! Well it seems like that anyways :). And its not because of what you wrote but the fact that I have actually shared this with someone else, other then my loving sisters. They've truly been there but again, it's nice to get an outsiders perspective. It pushes me that much more, and helps me to share how I've been feeling. :)))

I cannot tell you how much it means to me to get such a welcoming response back. In the past year I've kept this to myself, and that was probably a bad choice. Life is full of choices and its a beautiful thing to uncover certain elements of yourself or "ones self" or however you want to put it, but you're right, I'm not giving it an outlet. Bummer! And human interaction aren't difficult for me, at all, but more of a void. Its so weird. I've never acted this way. Maybe its because school is drowning me and its never ending. lol. I'm sure I'll look back at this and call it my "foggy" year.

On the upside, I'm going shopping soon (for myself) since I never spend money and I'm also giving my condo a "facelift." I'll start off with 2" heals so my guy doesn't have a heart attack, ha! And bright colors, well, I'll see when I get to mall. lol. I'm sure those things might get me back on track. I also feel bad if I spend money. Jeez, I'm a major dork. (btw I'm shaking my head) Dammit, i need a little retail therapy!!! For gosh sakes, I buy things online, how boring is that! lol

For the most part I am pretty happy, but man-oh-man, has this been a spooky year for my spirituality and hobbies. Also, I don't know why I only paint sometimes. I think I should do something more physical like rock climb? Looks like I'm reaching for the stars here lady. lol

You're great Kirsten, you can rule the world if you wanted to.

    XoXo,
    Crosbie
