  • Sunday Brunch

Blazer, Ellison. Scarf, Brooch, and Ring, Forever 21. Hand-stitched tank, Lace skirt, Tights, and Leg Warmers, Wet Seal. Shoes, Anna Michelle. Vintage Leopard Sunglasses.

On my way to meet my girlfriends for Sunday Brunch and mimosas.  It was still a bit chilly out, so I wanted to combine everything feminine in layers for added warmth.  I love old-fashioned touches like the soft mauve of the scarf and the drama of the brooch.  Textured tights and leg warmers add unexpected fun.  Vintage leopard sunglasses top off the outfit.

  • Last Minute Holiday Shopping

Glasses, Wet Seal. Scarf, Shorts, and Bracelet, Forever 21. Striped thermal, Gap. Shoes, FD4.

Last minute holiday shopping was stressing me out… So I decided to add a little bit of color to the chore.  Sure enough, the bright colors brightened my outlook.  And the geek chic glasses definitely didn’t leave room for anything except smiles.

  • Let’s Paint the Town… Magenta

Dress, Forever 21. Shoes, Lui Chinny. Earrings, Betsey Johnson.

Winter doesn’t mean only reds, blacks, silver, and gold… Color is still a huge option and one that should be exercised liberally… Especially if you want to stand out in the crowd.  Usually I’m not a fan of the monochromatic look, but with such a simple outfit (hair straight back, magenta dress and shoes, and dangly earrings) the monochromatic look worked.

  • Current Obsession: Betsey Johnson Heel

Ah, Betsey Johnson, you little vixen… You’ve done it again.  And just in time for your Black Friday 40% off of everything sale… I’ve been counting down the days.  Meaning that these shoes… originally $235… marked down already to $117.50… Will only cost $70.50! I love a good deal as much as the next girl…  These just might be the shoes on my feet when I lean in for my New Year’s kiss… Uh-maz-ing.  Want em? Click and shop, baby.

  • Halloween… Time for Cinderella to Go to the Ball… And Get a Bit Angelic

Halloween fell on a weekend. That meant two nights of parties.  In Santa Barbara, two nights of parties means two nights of running into the same people.  Therefore, having two costumes was a must.

I thought Halloween was the perfect excuse to be the perfect little angel… The last minute costume find was a steal. But the wings only stayed on for about 3 minutes.  Just enough time to work my way through the crowded room and poke everyone’s eye out with my feathery weapons. Oops. At least I got to keep on the fuzzy halo.

The second costume allowed me to indulge my childhood dream of being a Disney princess.  Mission accomplished.  Though, when the cartoonists sketched the delicate Cinderella, I hardly imagine that they had the idea of a 6’2″ California girl in mind. Not like it mattered… my Prince Charming surprised me by showing up at  the party I was attending.  Guess those (size 10) glass slippers did have a little magic in them.
