Nothing says Valentine’s Day like strawberry cupcakes. And nothing says strawberry cupcakes like Sprinkles’ cupcakes. The founder was kind enough to share her recipe online (find it here). The smell of fresh strawberries while you’re baking will drive you wild… I almost ate the whole bowl of batter. Also, I couldn’t resist these hot pink leopard print cupcake wrappers. That with the tiny baby pink sugar pearls makes these the perfect (delicious. and oh-so-girly) cupcake.

HOW TO – MAKEOVER A BROWN PAPER BAG
I always seek originality when giving a gift. A gift, even the wrapping, should feel personalized. This is especially true on Valentine’s Day… a day when the whole point is to show someone that you took a little extra time to show them you love them. I decided to hit up the local craft store and buy some glittery paper, some V-Day style glittery hearts, and some brown paper bags. Then I let my imagination run wild. The result is an eye-catching and completely unique gift bag. No need for a gift card… The bag is sentiment enough.

Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies
I am a firm believer in giving gifts of love for Valentine’s Day. And nothing says love like homemade, from scratch, ooey-gooey chocolate chip walnut cookies (get the recipe here). Throw them in a cute clear bag, tie with some preppy grosgrain ribbon and top with a sticker. I custom designed the “Love Is Sweet” sticker for these kind of gifts. Yummy and a treat to look at.

Country Florals, Lace, and Pigtails.

Necklace, F21. Belt, Gossip. Shirt and Sweater, Wet Seal. Jeans, Red Engine. I was going to meet up with a friend to shop the local Farmer’s Market. The February chill was in the air and something about the month of love and the thought of fresh local produce put me in a very girly and very…hmm… country mood. I decided to mix and match the two. Florals, pastel pinks and yellows, and pigtails demonstrated the requisite amount of girliness. The distressed denim (obviously my favorite pair of jeans) with a shredded hem framing the edge of my peep toe wedge gave the look some character. I think I looked as happy as I felt because I couldn’t stop smiling.

Bringing Back the Midriff. And Linen Pants.

Blazer and Necklace, Gossip. Blouse, linen pants, and sparkly ring, F21. Gun ring, Wet Seal. Shoes, Predictions. There is something that I find irresistibly delicious about a pair of pants that gets so rebelliously wrinkled throughout the day. Sit down… they crease. Cross your legs… knee wrinkles. It is the imperfection of linen that I find so intoxicating. I love the contrast of the crinkled linen with the crisp lines of the preppy tan blazer. Also, the touch of unexpected skin makes this a perfect date outfit. Business on the top… party in the middle… and, well, crinkles down the legs. I know, it doesn’t sound hot, but it is. Do linen.
