Nothing says Valentine’s Day like strawberry cupcakes. And nothing says strawberry cupcakes like Sprinkles’ cupcakes. The founder was kind enough to share her recipe online (find it here). The smell of fresh strawberries while you’re baking will drive you wild… I almost ate the whole bowl of batter. Also, I couldn’t resist these hot pink leopard print cupcake wrappers. That with the tiny baby pink sugar pearls makes these the perfect (delicious. and oh-so-girly) cupcake.

HOW TO – MAKEOVER A BROWN PAPER BAG
I always seek originality when giving a gift. A gift, even the wrapping, should feel personalized. This is especially true on Valentine’s Day… a day when the whole point is to show someone that you took a little extra time to show them you love them. I decided to hit up the local craft store and buy some glittery paper, some V-Day style glittery hearts, and some brown paper bags. Then I let my imagination run wild. The result is an eye-catching and completely unique gift bag. No need for a gift card… The bag is sentiment enough.

Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies
I am a firm believer in giving gifts of love for Valentine’s Day. And nothing says love like homemade, from scratch, ooey-gooey chocolate chip walnut cookies (get the recipe here). Throw them in a cute clear bag, tie with some preppy grosgrain ribbon and top with a sticker. I custom designed the “Love Is Sweet” sticker for these kind of gifts. Yummy and a treat to look at.

Lady in Red
I know, I know… I said yesterday that I was wearing my 40s vintage dress to the film premiere. I changed my mind exactly 5 minutes before heading out the door. I decided that a red carpet, red lips, and a red hot event… deserved a red dress. My friends and I had a phenomenal night. And, clearly, we enjoyed the photo ops available at the gala that followed the film.
Sidenote: the opening night film, “Sarah’s Key,” was remarkable. If you have the chance to see it, I highly recommend it.

How To: Make Your Own Vintage Headband
I was obsessed with a certain Grecian headband (found here)… I was looking at one of my jewelry boxes and it was brimming with my late grandmother’s brooches. I thought to myself… “Why not make your own one-of-a-kind headband?” So I did. I grabbed some thick satin ivory ribbon and then fastened the brooches to the ribbon. I tied the whole think in my hair and was (very!) pleased with the result. You may not have a ton of vintage jewelry lying around… So head to a thrift store and buy a bunch. Go classic or garish.
