    To be truly fabulous… you must constantly expand your mind… Intelligence is a critical component to becoming a remarkable woman.  On that note, here are a few words that should be in your personal repertoire {add them to some of the words that should already be in your dictionary… which you can review here}.

    wan·der·lust ˈwän-dər-ˌləst {noun}: a strong, innate desire to rove or travel about.
    In a Sentence: Though she found someone whom she very much enjoyed, she wondered if her ability to commit would be irreparably damaged by her incessant wanderlust; would she have to choose between the boy and the world? {personal thought: I think my hypothetical “she” should be able to commit to both the boy and the world}
    In Your Life: What a delicious affliction to have… I personally like to think of myself as a rolling stone {with strong family roots, of course}.  The world is a large and crazily captivating place.  If you have the ability to move about {meaning that you are relatively functional and at least quasi-resourceful}, you should be experiencing bouts of wanderlust… and acting on those impulses.  The definition cites an “innate desire.”  If something is pulling on your heartstrings so strongly, it would be a disgrace to ignore the call to travel.  See the world… even if it’s just the next town over.  Learn a new language.  Take in a new culture.  Go with an open mind. The growth that you will experience will surprise you… and make you even more captivating.

    rev·er·ie ˈre-və-rē, ˈrev-rē {noun}: 1. a state of dreamy mediation or fanciful musing. 2. a daydream.
    In a Sentence: She got lost in a reverie on a daily basis; it was as if her soul demanded it.
    In Your Life: This is an absolute necessity.  Daydreaming is food for the soul.  It tells you who you are, what you want, and acts as the very best motivator.  Some individuals justify their time spent in reverie by referring to it as “visualization.”  If that gets you going, then feel free to call it that {I, personally, feel that word doesn’t do the true experience of being lost in reverie any justice}.  The first step to getting something done is imagining it being done.  Even if your reverie involves nothing productive {per say}, it can at least put a smile on your face and elevate your mood to even greater heights… Everyone knows that a happy girl {and, yes, with that wistful post-reverie smile you’re wearing, you are clearly “happy”} is the most beautiful kind of girl.

    gour·mandˈgu̇r-ˌmänd, -mənd {noun}:  one who is heartily interested in good food and drink.
    In a Sentence: The city’s restaurant tour is not just an incredible social experience, it is basically a mandatory exercise for any true gourmand.
    In Your Life: Could anything be more wonderful than an amazing meal paired with the perfect wine? {rhetorical question… though, if answered, I realize there are many things equally/more wonderful… but to find them requires a good deal of thought}  You, as a woman who seeks experience, culture, and knowledge, should have developed a hearty interest in good food and drink at this juncture in life.  And, if you have not? Then get going.  This is a pleasurable task and the experience can be shared.  If you find a great restaurant {bonus points if it isn’t well known} you should immediately plan a dinner here for your girlfriends, that guy you’ve been eyeing, your parents, etc.  Eat, drink, and be merry {you little gourmand, you}.

    bib·li·o·phile / bib-lee-uh-fahyl/ {noun}: a lover of books; one who loves to read, admire and collect books.
    In a Sentence: The slim woman in the pencil skirt and glasses sat in the corner of the cafe with a stack of worn books on her table; he was drawn to the curious nature of the bibliophile.
    In Your Life:
    I am a self-diagnosed bibliophile; and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Books of all kinds fill my living room, coffee table, bookshelves, and bedside tables.  The recent invention of the Nook and Kindle are the only two things saving me from literally getting lost in my collection of pages.  People who read are fascinating.  They are also incredibly clever.  {Both of those things are likely an overgeneralization… but they are oftentimes valid assessments}.  A reader is someone who has realized that they can experience another world, another person, another perspective and, arguably, another life just by leafing through one novel, short story, or tome.  Avid readers also tend to have active imaginations, which can turn a mundane life into an extraordinary one with a simple turn of perspective {and a page}.  You should seek to read as frequently as possible.  In doing so, you will develop a richer view of the world {each experience gained through reading helps extinguish a facet of ignorance that may be lurking, unseen, in your mind} and it will give you a lot more to talk about at happy hour than the standard gossip {which you are above taking part in, regardless}.  On top of this, it will broaden your perspective in a way that is utterly disarming to others… they will be waiting to hear what fascinating tidbit you will share at the next cocktail party you attend.

    phos·phenes / fos-feens/ {noun}: the stars and colors you see when you rub your eyes.
    In a Sentence: After working at a computer for hours, she furiously rubbed her eyes and had to wait a moment before the phosphenes dissipated.  {Or, the more enticing sentence: After she kissed him, she rubbed her eyes; she was frozen in confusion, attempting to decipher if she was literally seeing stars due to the magnitude of the kiss or if it was merely self-inflicted phosphenes.}
    In Your Life:
    Phosphenes are a result of rubbing your eyes… and, if you are leading a full life, you should be doing this often {though not so vigorously as to cause some sort of an irreparable injury}.  Examples of when rubbing your eyes occurs: when you think you are imagining something wonderful and wish to clear your view to understand if reality is truly as marvelous as you perceived; after you have spent hours creating something remarkable in the form of a written, painted, crafted, etc. art form that required intense focus; after a particularly long night spent with close friends or that certain someone; after crying {hopefully happy tears… but a well-lived life also includes its fair share of genuine sorrow}; upon waking from a truly restful {and hopefully dream filled} sleep; after peering through a camera for hours capturing the beauty around you; the list goes on… I hope that your life is frequently filled with moments that result in a plethora of phosphenes.

    te·na·cious / tuh-ney-shuhs / {adjective}: persistent in maintaining, adhering to, or seeking something valued or desired; not easily pulled apart.
    In a Sentence: It was her dream job… It had been and it always would be; throughout the moments of discouragement and perceived hardships, she remained tenacious in her pursuit.
    In Your Life:
    I am a proponent of tough love {meaning that I feel that I should hand over the cold hard truth instead of sugar-coating it}… So, simply put: Life can be hard. It is hard. The true testament of a tenacious individual is that they make life look easy.  When life knocks them down, they get up swiftly {without missing a beat} and gracefully.  They respond to difficult times seamlessly; they are up for the challenge and realize that the challenge will always {at some point or another} present itself.  Be dogged in your pursuit of something worthwhile.  A tenacious individual is also a brave individual {as pursuing a goal that may result in some form of defeat can be terrifying}.  Have courage, love.  It is the singular thing that separates the leaders from the sheep.  You are tenacious, brave, and courageous.  And, if you’re not… the New Year is fast approaching.  It appears to be time for a resolution.

    in·ef·fa·ble /inˈefəbəl/ {adjective}:
 1. Too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.
2. Too sacred to be uttered.
    In a Sentence: After purchasing the new spiked leopard print Christian Louboutins, I experienced ineffable joy.
    In Your Life: The word ineffable should only be used in the grandest and most sincere of compliments or to express an emotion or experience that is truly, wildly off the charts and nearly inexplicable in its magnitude.  Imagine things like love, beauty, mystery, grandeur, or anything and everything exquisite {if you are living your life correctly, as I assume that you are, you should have many moments in which this word would be apropos} as being deserving of this descriptive term.  I was unbelievably flattered when a young man used this word in reference to yours truly… I was momentarily weak-kneed from his intellectually fueled compliment.  And, if that young man is perhaps reading this… I tip my hat to you, sir.

    rav·ish·ing /ˈraviSHiNG/ {adjective}: delightful; entrancing.
    In a Sentence: When she entered the parlor, the men simultaneously drew in a deep breath; perhaps it was the way she looked confidently about the room with her sweeping gaze or, perhaps, it was simply her ravishing beauty.
    In Your Life: Ah, to be described as ravishing.  You already are… and, if you aren’t, you certainly have the capability to be so.  Any woman can be entrancing due to her intellect, humor, mystery, impeccable style, wit, flirtatious charm, or the way in which she carries herself.  The way in which you live your life and conduct yourself should strike others as ravishing at every possible moment.  When you are truly living… bravely, confidently, and with your head held high… you will be nothing short of captivatingly ravishing.

    er·u·dite /ˈer(y)əˌdīt/ {adjective}: having or showing great knowledge or learning.
    In a Sentence: The two friends chatted rapidly over their glasses of sauvignon blanc, each zealous with the relief of finding someone with whom they could have an erudite and engaging discussion in this town full of vapid individuals.
    In Your Life: Educate yourself.  It is the most rewarding, invigorating, and important thing that you can do.  Never stop learning, being curious, or challenging yourself intellectually.   In this way, you will become an increasingly erudite individual.  Surround yourself with like-minded people.  You will find that the more you learn, the more you can contribute.  You will naturally begin to gravitate towards those who are erudite, which means that you will never be bored {or boring} and you will constantly be engaged.  The next time someone is talking about something that goes over your head at a ritzy party, instead of taking your glass of champagne and floating across the room… stay. Listen. Ask questions.  You have something to learn.  And, before you know it, that also means that you have something to teach.  You’re one smart minx, you are.
