Overcast with a Side of Sequins

Blazer and Pearl Necklace, F21. Striped Thermal, Gap. Bow Belt (worn as necklace), Boutique store in Huntington Beach. Sequined Mini, Olive Olivia. Boots, Wet Seal. Cloudy weather was cramping my style… I had spent the last couple days writing in my (leopard print) pjs. I decided to bust out a few of my favorites to break my style rut. An Easter pink linen blazer, chain belt with a leather bow worn as a necklace, a black sequined mini, heels with hardware and, of course, pearls. Style rut averted. Too bad I didn’t have the same control over the weather.

Argyle Socks and Sparkly Pumps

Sunglasses, Gucci. Cardigan, J.Crew. Earrings, necklace, bow, crewneck thermal, skirt, and shoes, Forever 21. Socks, Wet Seal. Old women (I’m talking the 80 year-old wealthy widows) in Santa Barbara always have the coolest style… oversized shades and jewelry. Additionally, the toddlers in my town are insanely spoiled… which is why I inevitably envy a lot of their wardrobe (mainly sparkly super-feminine footwear). I say, “If you want it… get it!” So, I put together this old/young fusion. Sure enough, a four-year-old in a yellow tutu high-fived me while I was out at lunch. Mission accomplished.

Christmas Decor for the Girls
Who says Christmas has to be all red and green and holly-jolly? Not me! I threw a little Cupcakes and Champagne party for my best friends before we went out for a night on the town. I stuck with vintage lace, preppy blue and white striped fabric, hot pink satin ribbon, candles, and lots of glitter and sequins. Jazzy Christmas music (Eartha Kitt, Ella Fitgerald, Louis Armstrong) played in the background. The Christmas Tree I had decorated earlier served as a focal point. The holiday cards and gifts that I had made for them doubled as place cards. Overall, it was beyond a wonderful night… One of the best nights I’ve had with my best friends.
♥ We had so much fun that we couldn’t even sit still for a picture ♥
