If you are a reader of Blonder Ambitions or if you follow @blonderambitions on Insta, then you already know that I’m a bit of a bohemian | gypsy | hippie … so anything that incorporates elements of nature with the world of fashion is right up my alley. I recently heard about wooden watches and I instantly became curious…
I am a sucker for a good timepiece. Watches have always been a weakness of mine… something about the juxtaposition between old-school technology and modern design just really floats my boat. What happens when you construct a watch using the natural element of wood? Magic – that’s what happens.
In the wooden watch game, JORD is the name to know. After perusing some of JORD’s gorgeous designs, I knew that I had to own one of their pieces (and I even acquired one for my S.O. in the process). I chose the Sidney for myself (Maple & Rose Gold) and the Dover (Koa & Black) for my S.O.
In the month that we’ve been in possession of these watches, we’ve barely taken them off. They’ve been to music festivals, farmers markets, nightclubs, and late-night dinners. Regardless of where the watch is worn, it’s easily my most complimented piece. I plan on adding another wooden watch to my accessory arsenal in the near future… I currently have my eye on the Cora.
